Senate to Vote on Budget Reconciliation Bill

The Senate will vote on H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which is the budget reconciliation legislation.

Last week the Senate Parliamentarian ruled that several anti-worker provisions violate the Senate’s “Byrd Rule” and could not be included in reconciliation. The final bill text, which was released over the weekend, also removed the language requiring any organization receiving payroll deductions from federal employees to pay a 10% service fee to the government. The text also retained the border security funding language, including the House-passed provision to hire an additional 5,000 CBP Officers.

While this is encouraging, our work is far from over. Currently, there have been over 300 amendments filed which could be voted on throughout the course of the day. Some amendments would attack federal worker rights and protections.

Click here to continue to fight these attacks and urge your Senators to oppose any amendments that target federal employees, their families and their unions.
